Why Acting?
Why Acting?
I got my first taste of acting at Andover through the Filmmakers Club and as a student in the Video 1 class. While directing and producing films, I realized I needed actors, so I took on the challenge and stepped in front of the camera myself. After a few student films, I discovered that I was actually decent at it—and more importantly, I enjoyed it. That’s when I decided to pursue proper acting training.

At the intensive, I learned a tremendous amount—my entire perspective on acting shifted. We were taught everything from how to approach a new script to fully embodying a character. It became increasingly clear to me that acting is about living the life of the character, not just performing it. We also recreated popular scenes from films and series like Euphoria and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which deepened my understanding of the craft.

Results
Ultimately, I believe I am a much better actor now, and I’m looking forward to auditioning for roles in the summer of 2025. Although I was able to book a role for this summer, I had to decline it because the filming schedule conflicts with my plans. This opportunity, however, was a testament to the progress I made during the intensive.
